Job description
Experience : 18 to 22 years of Operations/ Production/Manufacturing experience from engineering industry. Candidates having experience of handling of CNC machine shop and products like Valves, Pressure Vessels, Compressors and Pumps is required.
Qualification : Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Role & responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Supervision: Oversee day-to-day production activities, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating various stages of manufacturing.
- Efficiency: Optimize production processes to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum downtime.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet the companys quality standards and regulatory requirements, particularly as fire equipment is safety critical.
- Inventory Management: Monitor raw materials, components, and finished products inventory to ensure smooth production flow.
2. Safety and Compliance:
- Safety Standards: Ensure that the manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations, particularly those related to fire equipment production.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO certifications), local laws, and international safety standards for fire equipment.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the manufacturing process and implement measures to mitigate them.
3. Team Management:
- Leadership: Manage and lead a team of engineers, technicians, and production workers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Training: Ensure that all employees are trained and qualified to operate machinery and understand safety protocols.
- Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the production team, providing feedback, and addressing any issues that arise.
4. Process Improvement:
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement new technologies, and optimize manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Innovation: Encourage innovation in manufacturing processes, particularly in developing new fire safety products or improving existing ones.
5. Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Cost Management: Oversee production costs, manage budgets, and ensure that manufacturing operations stay within financial constraints.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources, including labor, materials, and machinery, to optimize production costs.
6. Maintenance and Equipment Management:
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure regular maintenance of manufacturing equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure uninterrupted production.
- Upgrading Equipment: Assess the need for new equipment or technology upgrades to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
7. Coordination with Other Departments:
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as R&D, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Sales to ensure alignment between production capabilities and business objectives.
- Communication: Facilitate communication between production and other departments to ensure that any issues are addressed promptly.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production performance, including metrics like output, quality, efficiency, and safety incidents.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production processes, equipment maintenance, safety checks, and compliance certifications.
9. Customer Focus:
- Customer Requirements: Ensure that production meets customer specifications and deadlines, particularly in custom or specialized fire equipment manufacturing.
- Feedback: Incorporate customer feedback into the production process to improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.
Technical Skills:
- Manufacturing Processes: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, especially those related to fire equipment such as fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers, and other safety devices.
- Quality Assurance: Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and quality assurance practices, ensuring that products meet stringent safety and quality standards.
- Safety Standards: Familiarity with industry-specific safety standards and regulations (e.g., NFPA, UL listings, and ISO standards relevant to fire safety equipment).
- Software Proficiency: Competence in using production management software (e.g., SAP ERP systems), CAD software for design, and other relevant IT tools.
